FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is CRHH?
We are a state-licensed home-health agency serving clients in Anderson and surrounding counties, with a mission to provide quality, affordable, in-home skilled and personal care services to community residents regardless of age, race, sex, religious affiliation, or income. We supply skilled nursing services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social services, and certified nursing assistants (home health aides and homemakers).
So you are a business?
Yes. We provide services under Medicare, private insurance, Office on Aging Options and Medicaid Waiver Programs, and to clients who personally pay. We are governed by the same standards as others in the home-health industry. But we are a business with a considerable difference.
The difference is?
We are a 501 (c) (3) Not-for-Profit Corporation receiving support from United Way, churches, other organizations, and individuals (our members).
Though we are incorporated, we do not have shareholders, no dividends are paid, our board members and officers are volunteers who do not receive a salary or other remuneration for their work, and if we "go out of business", the assets must transfer to some other tax exempt not-for-profit. The support arising from our not-for-profit status and some of our earnings sustain our charitable mission, which focuses on our Home Health and Respite Programs. If adequate insurance is not available, the Home Health Program can provide any of our services to Anderson County residents on a sliding-scale fee based on total monthly household income.
The assistance with personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, shopping, errands, and transportation to physician appointments available on the sliding-scale fee are very effective in enabling a client to live independently at home as long as possible. The Respite Program can provide to Anderson County residents, at no cost to the client, up to four hours a week of relief to the in-home caregiver of a severely debilitated shut-in. This relief is often the difference that continues to make the stay at home possible.
How can CRHH help me?
Each person or family to whom assistance is provided has a different set of needs, and our care is individualized to meet those specific needs. A short telephone conversation with one of our staff can help you determine if our services are right for you or your family member. We can provide services from 7 A.M. through 5 P.M., for a maximum of four hours of service per day, according to staff availability at the time of request for services.
How much will private pay services cost me?
In the effort to make our assistance available to anyone who needs it, CRHH has developed a sliding-scale fee for our private pay services. We are able to charge in this way because of the generous support received from the community. This sliding scale is based on the household income of the person receiving our services. Many times a client has a family member who wishes to pay the cost for them. Even then the cost is based on the household income of the person receiving the services.
What should I do in order to receive services from CRHH?
Contact us at 866-910-2744 between 8 A.M. - 5 P.M., Monday through Friday. At that time, we can confirm that we can meet your needs, and you can obtain information concerning actual cost. If you wish to receive services, we will require an order from your physician allowing us to provide them. If you need assistance in contacting your physician, we will be glad to help.
What can I expect after my physician orders services?
We will contact you and set up an appointment for one of our Registered Nurses to visit your home to interview you and obtain more specific information concerning your needs. The information is to ensure that you will receive the proper care. A plan of care will be developed at that time, and at the end of the home visit, the R.N. will assist you in deciding when you want the services to begin. Don't worry if you are not sure of the exact type of service you require. Many people are not, and the R.N. will make suggestions that can help you decide where to begin.
What if I need to change the services?
As your needs change, so can our services. You can change the frequency and duration of our visits. If you choose, you can put our visits "on hold" for a length of time that you specify, or you can stop them altogether.
How can I help?
Since we require a strong base of insurance funding to facilitate our charitable works, consider CRHH when selecting a home health provider under Medicare or private insurance. Also consider making donations to CRHH. Contributions qualify as charitable donations as defined by IRS Code Section 170.
